We asked our Sunday Space Commander: Warface some questions about what we can expect during his hosting at REBiRTH Festival Sunday!

Hey Warface! What’s up? We’re over the moon to have you as our mainstage host on Sunday. We hope you’re looking forward!

Thank you for having me! I’m already counting the days until the hosting haha, I’m really excited.

We choose our Sunday Mainstage hosts carefully. How does it feel to be the one worthy of the Sunday demolition?

It’s a big honor. Hosting the Sunday Mainstage is a big play, so I’ve been preparing a lot of special stuff to make sure the fans will have the best day ever!

You’ve created a huge line-up for your Sunday hosting, besides your LIVE set and Trip Through Memory set, you’re also doing a few b2b’s. How did you decide on who to have a versus set with?

I think I could’ve done a b2b with every artist on this line up, but because I’m already doing two solo sets, I thought it would be best to only do two b2b sets; one Hardstyle b2b and one Hardcore b2b. The first one is with Rooler, which I made a track with for my album. I think our styles are pretty different, but it still matches really well and the vibe on stage with each other is always good. The other b2b is together with Deadly Guns, which is always fun. He’s a good friend of mine and I like and support his music a lot.

Who do you think is a worthy successor for next year?

Hosting the REBiRTH Festival Sunday is a big honor like I said, but it’s also not an easy task. You have to come up with unique sets and really give the people something extra. I think someone who is able to do this, and would also fully deserve it, is D-Sturb.

I think a lot of people are happy to see a Warface Classics set! What time period of your career do you consider to be the Warface Classics era?

I don’t really like speaking in terms of ‘Warface Classics’ because I always want to focus on ‘now’ and the future. The Warface Trip Down Memory won’t only be Warface tracks from 2012/2016 for example, but also tracks from 2017/2018/2019 and so on. I want to dig up some Warface memories during this set. It’s like watching your photo album from when you were a child. You don’t do it often, but when you do it, it gives you a satisfying feeling.

Time to dig a little deeper into your new liveset…

The ‘R.I.P. 2023’ teasers had a lot of people wondering about what it could be. Was the hype as big as you expected?

Haha teasing R.I.P. 2023 definitely helped creating the hype, although you never really know how people will respond until the moment you share the news. The response on first my new live show was incredible, but when I shared the news about my new album the response was even bigger, so I’m very happy with the reactions so far.

How did you came up with the idea for your live-act?

We decided to come up with a new live act and album at the same time actually. After Forgotten Future, we felt it was time for something new. We sat down and created a new concept: Rest In Pieces. The name and vibe of the concept fits really well within the Warface brand, but the name also has a underlying meaning. The last couple of years, I went through some difficult times, but right now I’m feeling better than ever so all the problems I had can now Rest In Pieces, and I can focus on a new chapter of Warface.

You also announced your newest album, which we are very curious about! Can you tell us a bit more about that? What can we expect?

Like I said, we thought of dropping a new live act together with a brand new album. Remco and I started last year and everything went so smoothly. We feel the sound of this album is pretty refreshing, but it’s still 100% Warface. I’ll premiere the full album exclusively during my live act premiere at my REBiRTH Festival Hosting, plus I’ll announce the release date very soon as well.

To stay on our theme a bit, we have a thematic question at the end

If you would actually be ready for lift-off, what planet would you travel to? And what do you expect to see there?

I think Mars because I’ve read that you only weigh half of what you weigh on earth. That would be ideal haha!

Thank you so much Warface for doing this interview. We can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for us.

Thanks again for having me. I’m more than ready to drop a very special Hosting day together with you for all the visitors!
